The 4 Steps to Success

Hi everyone, how’s everyone’s year coming along? I can’t believe February is just about over and March will be here! Is everyone making progress in their goals? Remember, it’s all about the journey, everyone has their own story and you and only you are writing your life story. Today, I wanted to talk about the 4 essential steps to succeed from a post from Brendon Burchard, one of the word’s leading high performance coach and one of the most-watched, quoted and followed personal development trainers in history. Here are his 4 steps:

  1. Desire: Are you hungry enough to reach your goals and accomplish what you set your mind to do? Desire comes in many shapes and form, but mostly it come from within. Once you desire something, you will do anything in your power to make your goals happen and you get excited about it! What is your vision for yourself? Don’t you want to be the best version of yourself? Go out to travel the world, go experience life, try new hobbies, that will help you find the desires you want! Do it for yourself. 🙂
  2. Direction: Many people may have the desire, but they are not willing to do the hard work hat demands learning to stretch their competency, to get direction from other people. Success never comes easy, but people need to have a plan to get to their goals accomplished. When you desire something, you must have a map or else you’ll never reach the destination you want. We should always be learning and we won’t be able to achieve any results if we don’t put the hard work in.
  3. Discipline: These are habits that people must be consistent with in order to get the results you want. You need a high level of discipline each and every single day. You need to set up repeated habits, repeated methods and practices in your life that you do over and over again to move you toward your desire. It’s a requirement but it needs to be joyful habit in order to achieve your goals.
  4. Distraction Radar:  You need to be good with managing distractions because it’s everywhere and it will get in your way of your goals and dreams. You must be focused when trying to pursue your goals. We all get distracted by things all the time and must ask ourselves this question: “What distractions do I need to kick out in order to have more time to achieve my goals?” I think if we can figure that part out, you’ll have more time for yourself and you’ll gain more focus/energy for what you want to accomplish.

What do you think of these steps? They are simple steps but they can be hard to follow.  I hope you all take these post into consider to make some changes in your life so your can make your dreams a reality one day!

How to Change Yourself in Positive Way

at the end of your

Have you ever wonder what steps it might take to change yourself? Without change through this journey we call life, you could be sitting there wondering what it might of been. Nobody likes change but its necessary to to have the life we want and in order to accomplish the goals we set out to achieve. Here are some quick steps to make a change within yourself…

    1) Get real with yourself

If you’re having trouble with budgeting your finances, managing your health, live life problems in your professional life, any other areas, go ask for advice and get feedback from those who love you. Don’t take this feedback as criticism, but take it as honesty from people that want you to do better in life.  They’re your biggest fans and you just need to listen to what they have to say with because they probably have valuable insight on what you need to work on in order to have an improved life.  You might not like what they have to say but they mean well because they only want the best for you.

   2) Build a support network

This is critical because you need to be picky about the people you spend with. They should be people that share the same interests and goals as they have a major influence on your life. They say you are the average of the 5 people you spent the most time with. If you hang out with more entrepreneurs, the odds are going to be high that you’ll be starting your own business if thats your end goal. This group are the one that believe in you and want to go through the journey with you. They are your support system and will try to support you no matter how many lows and highs you might endure.

3) Take baby steps

This is important as well because people tends to go fast and you want to enjoy the journey and thats by taking multiple small steps to head to success. Studies have shown by taking the small steps towards anything you want to achieve, the rate of success is pretty high as a string of the correct decisions is key to achieving your goals.

Following your dreams

“She turned to the sunlight And shook her yellow head,And whispered to her neighbor- -Winter is dead.” (2)

Walt Disney is one of the best visionaries that the world has ever seen. You would think success came easy to him, but no, his idea for a Disneyland park was rejected over 200 times, but the man had big dreams. He even got fired from a newspaper! He wasn’t going to give up until he found success, in which he did. Just imagine, there wouldn’t be a Disneyland, Disney world, or all the amazing Disney movies such as Toy Story etc without Walt Disney’s work ethic, passion, perseverance and plan of action.  Walt created something amazing for everyone to enjoy and it all started from a dream.

He was very passionate about his dreams and no matter what happens, the pit falls, the failures, he learned from his mistakes. Walt Disney truly believed in himself and his dreams, which made a world of difference because nothing was going to stand in his way. Everyone needs to have some sort of dream (no matter how big or small it is) because we do only live one life and why not make it a life worth living? We should have something that we are working for.  So today, I ask you all, what are you doing today, tomorrow, the next couple of months and years to make your dreams a reality? Be bold, have courage, take risks, believe in yourself and most of all, be passionate about what you do. The world needs more dreamers…so dream big!

3 Steps to Beating Anxiety

dwell-on-the-beauty-of-life-watch

3 Steps to Beating Anxiety

1. Identify the Triggers

The most important thing to know before tackling anxiety is to understand what anxiety is (not just understand the feeling). Anxiety is a form of fear when there is no immediate threat to ones life. Essentially, it is fear of the UNKNOWN. The first step in battling your anxiety is to understand what causes it. I challenge you to carry a notebook for one week. Each time you start to feel anxious, analyze what your day looks like and get a feel of the most challenging topics/subjects/tasks of the day – document it. By the end of the week, you should have a decent amount of notes to reference back on. Where are the trends? What do you see that repeats itself? For example, my anxiety triggers are: getting a call from an unknown number, receiving a challenging email I just don’t have the answer to, and sometimes leading up to an event where I will have to speak publicly. As you can see, when you take a step back and analyze my triggers, it is fear of the unknown! Who is calling me and why? How can I answer this email honestly with the correct information? What happens if I forget the topics I am speaking about?

2. Flip the Script

Flip the script means change your perspective. This is extremely difficult for people due to the need to over-analyze a situation, so I am going to make it really simple. Anxiety is pessimistic, excitement is optimistic. While you may feel fearful about what comes next, try shifting your perspective to a form of excitement. Who is calling me? The president! How can I answer this email honestly with the correct information? Ask for help and give your honest answer – life rolls on! What happens if I forget the topics I am speaking about? I get the opportunity to speak because I have earned it, and I provide valuable information even if I miss a few small points. Life is about opportunities and being excited about those opportunities.

3. Shift Your Energy

Eliminate dwell time in your life. Try turning your TV off and do things you love, preferably active things. I really don’t have much to add other than live the life you want to live. Enjoy your life in a way that you want to enjoy it. Do the things you want to, because YOU CAN.

Running 1 Mile Is All It Takes to Change The World

If you can push yourself further than you believed possible in a 1 mile run you can change the world more than you ever believed possible.

Run 1 mile and you can change the world. That’s it. Just 1 mile. 5,280 feet. Four times around a high school track. Don’t think you can do it? It doesn’t matter how fast you go just don’t start running as fast as you want to finish. Run a little bit slower than as fast as you can until you see the end in site. Then lock your eyes on the goal and GO. Run. Swing your arms, yell, push, make a face, and give everything you have left to get to the end.

Now stop. Breathe. And realize what you just accomplished.

The mile is four years in college. The mile is 17 job applications before becoming employed. The mile is disappointing a friend to be true to yourself. The mile is 9 months of practice before the performance. The mile is the rejection before you closed the deal. And the feeling you got after you ran the mile is the same feeling you get from accomplishing all of the above. Only difference is now you know you can overcome.

If you can push yourself further than you thought possible in a 1 mile run you can overcome anything, if you just learn to pace yourself and push through when you think it’s impossible. And when in doubt, go on a run.

Make Your Whole Damn Life Count

This minute is gone forever. Ask yourself; did it matter? Photo Credit

You have one chance
one life in this body
until the next one starts again
that means this minute is gone
gone forever
so ask yourself, did it matter?
did that minute make a difference in your life?
will it be one to remember forever?
is it a minute spent with the people who matter?
doing the things that really matter?
this is your one last chance
your last chance to make this minute count
and when it does count make the next one count too
and the one after that, and after that, and after that
better yet make your whole damn life count
because this life is all you have to live
until the next one begins
then make that one count too
