Before You Speak, T.H.I.N.K. to Stay Positive

1. T

Is it true?

2. H

Is it helpful?

3. I

Is it inspiring?

4. N

Is it necessary?

5. K

Is it kind?

We are all guilty of the occasional splurge of vocalizing our “over ambitious opinions”. Unfortunately it isn’t always taken as we desired. Remember that when a message is encoded, there naturally will be noise before it is decoded by the receiver, and in some cases come off little rude or overwhelming, even if that wasn’t the intention. This is why we use the T.H.I.N.K. acronym; to see the viewpoint of the receiver to keep the mood and conversation positive.

  1. My kids can all rattle off this acronym. I posted it on the wall and quoted it to them dozens of times every day – along with Ephesians 4:29. I know many adults who could use the same training.

    Thanks for sharing!
