Be Thankful for Your Struggles

Every struggle in your life has shaped you into the person you are today. Be thankful for the hard times; they can only make you stronger.

Even though things may seem difficult at times, be grateful for your struggles. For these things will be what shapes you into the individual you will become tomorrow. You are destine to win because you are an over-comer.

You are more than a conqueror.

Don’t Let Your Mind be the Road Block

“The only wall you need to conquer is the one you built in your mind.”

Take the time to sit back today and analyze a few obstacles in your life. If you truly want to make change, get up and do it. Your mind is very powerful! As easy as it can be to help motivate you, it has the same power to bring you down.

5 Ways to Give More of Your Heart Today

1. Say less about yourself and notice more about others

2. Find the gleam in someones’ eye and hold it with a smile

3. Do something no one expects you to do and do it gladly

4. When someone challenges you, stop and seek to completely understand their point of view

5. Write an anonymous thank you and leave it for someone least expecting and most deserving

The Eight Splendid Truths of Happiness

First Splendid Truth
To be happier, you have to think about feeling good, feeling bad, and feeling right, in an atmosphere of growth.

Second Splendid Truth
One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people happy;
One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself.

Third Splendid Truth
The days are long, but the years are short. (Click here to see my one-minute movie; of everything I’ve written about happiness, I think this video resonates most with people.)

Fourth Splendid Truth
You’re not happy unless you think you’re happy.
(Many argue the opposite case. John Stuart Mill, for example, wrote, “Ask yourself whether you are happy, and you cease to be so.” I disagree.)

Fifth Splendid Truth
I can build a happy life only on the foundation of my own nature.

Sixth Splendid Truth
The only person I can change is myself.

Seventh Splendid Truth
Happy people make people happy, but
I can’t make someone be happy, and
No one else can make me happy.

Eighth Splendid Truth
Now is now. (For more on this truth, read the last chapter of Happier at Home. I love writing endings, and if I may say so, endings are my forte, and this is the best ending I’ve ever written.)
